Event Details

In this class we follow on the millinery skills you learnt at the beginners class, and we focus on dying sinamay and making beautiful petals, by rolling edges and painting them vibrant colours. These can then be added to a fascinator base and you can use birdcage veil and feathers to adorn further if you wish.
You will also be introduced to another material; Parasisal.

Please note, this class if open to people who have completed the Sahar Millinery beginners class, or have some experience in using sinamay.

This is messy work, so please bring an apron!

Light refreshments will be served but not a full lunch, so please bring your own.

The workshop is held in Sahar’s studio in Central London.

About Sahar: Sahar Freemantle has been designing and making hats for 8 years, and is based in London. With a background in costume design, Sahar makes for TV including Downton Abbey, and does bespoke creations for women going to summer events, as well as performers on stage and exhibitions. Sahar has two millinery labels: Sahar Millinery and UglyLovely. Sahar hand crafts each hat to create original and unique pieces designed to flatter the wearer. Both brands use traditional millinery techniques, and whereas Sahar Millinery brings about timeless vintage style elegance, UglyLovely is more macabre. This class will be more inspired by the Sahar Millinery style.
