Day one: Learn how to use Sinamay. Make your own fascinator base, learn to make sinamay roses, feather manipulation and attaching birdcage veiling.

Day two: Felt blocking: block felt around a wooden hat block, to start to make a two piece felt hat eg a 1920s cloche hat

Day three: Constructing the felt hat: taking the felt off the block and putting it together, wiring.

Day four: Finishing the felt hat: trimming. If there’s time, we’ll start on buckrum, eg blocking buckrum around a block

Day five: covering the buckrum in fabric. We may or may not get this finished – depends on skill and speed of participants, but they will go home knowing how it’s done and with the skills to finish their third hat of the week!
