A feather fascinator is a suitable all year round headpiece for a wedding, whether it be a day or evening affair. You can opt for purely just feathers, or to have some feathers adorn a base, to create a feather hat.

Feathers have been a popular adornment in millinery since Queen Marie Antoinette wore large Ostrich feathers in her hair in the 17th Century. It was the turn of the 20th Century that the feather hat was very popular, when large feathers and often full birds adorned wide brim hats, as well as flowers and a host of other decorations. .

These days, feather hats for weddings rarely incorporate the full bird, instead, single feathers are often worked on and just a few feathers can stand alone as beautiful sculptures. For example, feathers can be cut, curled, dyed, and all sorts of other treatments to give drastically finishes to each hat.
